Deepwater environments present a number of design challenges for unbonded flexible pipe. Primary challenges include fatigue life, collapse, and axial compression loading of the tensile-armor wires. The full-length paper describes state-of-the-art analytical tools used to predict flexible-pipe performance under these load conditions.
