摘要
This paper presents the details of investigations on impact resistance of steel fiber reinforced concrete using drop weight impact method. The fiber reinforced concrete showed an ability to control cracking under impact loading and is found to absorb substantially higher number of blows when compared with the plain concrete. Addition of fibers, even in a small quantity, considerably improves the impact resistance of concrete. As age of concrete increases, number of blows to first crack gets doubled for trough-shaped fibers for all volume fractions.
