Effect of the dual-flow tray's parameters on the performance of the compound trays

The study on the performance of the compound trays was conducted. We employed several sets of compound trays which differ in parameters (fraction open area and hole diameter). The results show that: the larger the fraction open area is, the higher capacity the compound tray will have, the lower the pressure drop is and the smaller the turndown ratio will be. The hole diameter of better hydraulics is 8 mm. When the hole diameter is less than 8 mm, the smaller the hole diameter, the larger the pressure drop, the smaller turn down ratio. When the hole diameter is more than 8 mm, the larger the hole diameter, the larger the pressure drop, the smaller the turndown ratio. The hole diameter has little effect on the efficiency.
