Wave propagation in the layered piezoelectric cylindrical bars

Based on the matrix formulation of Hamilton's principle, the basic equations with elastic wave propagation in the layered piezoelectric cylindrical bars were obtained. The displacement functions were expressed by the polynomials with different degrees. The eigenvalue equations were derived by performing the variational operation. The dispersion relations and displacement fields of wave propagation in the layered piezoelectric cylindrical bars were gained. Numerical results of dispersion relations in the layered piezoelectric cylindrical bars were obtained and the influence of the piezoelectric layer was discussed. The convergence rate was well illustrated with examples.
