January is named for Janus, the Roman god of beginnings, doorways and transitions. So this month we look forward to 2023. The optics and photonics industry fared relatively well through the COVID-19 pandemic, but several conditions now threaten the tech sector. We first warned of a risk of recession in our industry six months ago (see Market Report, OPN, July/August 2022).
