Continuous, automated processes allow for reducing process costs by 30 to 40 percent and for significantly shortening lead times. A seven-stage approach shows how to put automated processes into practice. This paper presents the individual sta-ges (such as recording, optimization, automation, and monito-ring), including possible methods and technologies. To automate processes, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), process mining, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are used. © 2023, VDI Fachmedien GmBH & Co. KG. All rights reserved.
