Energy-efficient mobile data gathering using SDMA in WSN

A new low-latency and energy-efficient Sink mobile data gathering method for wireless sensor network was proposed. The method utilizes the low-latency feature of space-division multiple access (SDMA) technique and can use SDMA, map to the best polling point firstly, according to the minimum energy consumption and maximum match principle, the compatible pairs. Then taking the compatible pair's position feature as the weights, each polling point uses the Hopcroft-Karp algorithm to caculate the corresponding optimum match set. The polling points own the maximum match pairs and maximum cover joint into set P', and the approximate shortest path through P' was our final path. Simulation results show that compare to revenue based (RB) algorithm, this method sustains the low-latency advantage of SDMA, prolongs the average network lifetime, balances the network energy consumption.
