Study on the contact time of impact crusher with dimensional analysis and numerical simulation

Consociating the technique of dimensional analysis and FEM, the contact time of impact crusher was investigated under two kinds of conditions i.e. the hammer mass was infinity and finite, and the formulas of contact time were derived respectively. Results show that when hammer mass is infinity, the contact time is as a function of dimensionless quantity v2ρ/E, and when hammer mass is finite, the contact time is as a function of three dimensionless quantity E2R23/ (m1v12), ρ2R23/m1 and E1R23/ (m1v12).
