摘要
Buckling restrained brace is an energy dissipation and seismic isolation component, it is widely used in engineering actual examples at present. However, studying combination of buckling restrained brace and control is rare. Here, a new type buckling restrained brace based on electromagnetic control was developed, it was called electromagnetic buckling restrained brace (EBRB). Quasi-static tests for 6 sets of EBRB were conducted to do performance indexes analyses including hysteresis curve, skeleton curve, ductility performance, stiffness degradation, energy dissipation capacity, etc., and derive the calculation formula of electromagnetic force required for vibration control. The test results showed that differences between theoretical values of the derived electromagnetic force and actual values generated in tests are about 8%; when EBRB filling material is LC30 and its core material is Q235 steel, its energy consumption capacity is 1.08 times that when EBRB filling material is C30 and its core material is DT4, and the former's ductility performance is 1.2 times that of the latter's; aseismic performance of components under control of electromagnetic force is 1.3-1.5 times that without electromagnetic force control; so EBRB improves its aseismic performance compared to traditional buckling restrained brace, and EBRB has better application prospects in engineering actual examples. © 2023 Chinese Vibration Engineering Society.
