Aiming at the high oil temperature problem in one 1.5 MW wind turbine gearbox; through calculating theoretically the heat transfer in the lubricating oil heat exchanger of the gearbox; the actual cooling effect in different wind farm heat exchangers of the same model and in the same unit under different operating conditions is analyzed and compared in this paper. It can be found that the factors causing lubricating oil high temperature may be as follows: the inappropriateness of the fin structure selection; the lack of improper sealing of the nacelle; low design flow rate of lubricating oil; temperature control valve or oil temperature sensor becoming invalid and generator cooling water lack; etc; Therefore; on the basis of excluding the component problem; the problem of high oil temperature is completely solved by changing the structure of the radiator fin; increasing the heat exchanger area and the flow rate of the cooling fan in heat exchanger. The practical application of the project shows that the method proposed in this paper can be used to solve the problem of high oil temperature for this series of gearboxes; and also provides reference for the technical upgrade of subsequent products. © 2020; Editorial Board of Acta Energiae Solaris Sinica.
