The Hilltown Water and Sewer Authority has installed a 300-gpm SORB 33® arsenic removal system using Bayoxide® E33 media from Severn Trend Services. The system features one of the first uses of Severn Trent's Omni-SORB™ iron and manganese pretreatment system. The system uses a three-stage adsorber vessel treatment technology in which the system's ground-water is treated for iron and manganese before arsenic is removed. The SORB 33 process and technology can reduce arsenic contamination; and has been commercially proven to effectively and economically remove arsenic below 4 μg/l across a range of water treatment applications. Bayoxide E33 is a dry; robust ferric oxide media designed with a high capacity for arsenic and can provide long operating cycles and low operating costs;
