摘要
A project initiated by the Electrical Power Research Institute (EPRI) to review radiawaste designs for the next generation of nuclear power plants is discussed. Pervasive themes of the esigns requirements and of the conforming plants designs had been enhanced safety and improved reliability, compared with existing plants. Cost-competitive LLW processing strategies and technologies will be incorporated into the new plant designs, which would result in substantial operational and implementation cost saving. New plant designs need to take credit for the low liquid effluent activity achieved by the industry.
