Studying on noise of centrifugal pumps was reviewed. Firstly, noise sources of centrifugal pumps were summed. And studying on noise sources of centrifugal pumps was also classified according to noises from mechanisms including volutes with different geometric shapes and impellers and according to noises from hydrodynamic effects including cavitation, fluid-structure interaction and turbulence. Then, methods used in these studies were summarized in three aspects, namely, theoretical deduction of simplified models, numerical models with PC and test study. At last, some opening issues at present and new topics of this field in future were put forward.
