摘要
In the present study, the effects of abrasive flow finishing (AFF) process parameters, such as, number of cycles, extrusion pressure and abrasive mesh size on surface finish have been investigated. Taguchi method based experimental design was applied to optimize the AFF process parameter for better surface finish. Analysis of variance has been applied to identify the significant parameters for maximum percentage of improvement in surface finish (%ARJ. The mathematical model for surface finish, Ra was established to investigate the influence of AFF parameters during finishing of AI-6063 alloy cylindrical surface. Conformation test results established that the developed mathematical model was appropriate for surface finish, Ra during the finishing of AI-6063 alloy. Test result proved that 71.086% improvement in surface finish can be achieved.
