摘要
Investigators at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and from the University of California and the US Naval research laboratory are using tiny nanocrystals that could power quantum computing systems. The spin of indium-arsenide self-assembled quantum dots were changed and reversed by the use of dual lasers. The research showed that the state of a qubit could be changed with only 10-18 J of energy at a rate in excess of 1.4Ghz but not over 100GHz. Applications of such a device could be used to created quantum computers for national security and other security applications.
