The optical axis of ferroelectric monocrystal SrxBa1-xNb2O6 was confirmed to be a z axis using a polarized light microscope. A z-cut slice of 5 mm × 3 mm × 0.45 mm was made. With a 50 Hz alternating current field, the perfect ferroelectric hysteresis loop was obtained through a Sawyer-Tower circuit. The dependence of the dielectric spectra on the temperature and phase transition property of SrxBa1-xNb2O6 was analyzed. It was found that the characteristic temperature Tm transferred from the ferroelectric into the paraelectric phase is 74°C and the transition can be characterized as a relaxor phase transition.
