摘要
In this study, application and monitoring of a chemical protection program are experimentally performed. Real application values were monitored and evaluated by a developed monitoring program. The cooling towers used in the Capitol Shopping Mall Istanbul were selected for the application, the monitoring program was applied and the results were recorded in a database. With the use of this program, we were able to determined that it is necessary to perform regular measurements and analysis of the tower installation water and that the targeted protection can be achieved by monitoring the limit values in relation to all criterion determined within the scope of the program. The success of the program was evaluated by examining the correlation between COC, hardness, ΣFe and SiO2 regarding corrosion, sludging and scaling affects. It is understood that there are no extreme variations in the conductivity, hardness, alkalinity and SiO2 values, and as a result there are no depositions or adhesions on the heat transfer surfaces. It became clear that the important priority for the prevention of the corrosive effect, sludging and scaling, which increase operating and maintenance costs, is that the monitoring program needs to be sustained continuously along with the chemical protection program. © Sila Science.
