Composite subscription matching for radio frequency identification applications

Traditional publish/subscribe systems couldn't support the composite events with abundant temporal constraints, so that they couldn't satisfy all needs of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) applications. Aiming at RFID-related application characteristics, a composite subscription language was designed, the composition and use of subscription language were studied, and a matching algorithm for detecting composite events was proposed based on the time event, matching graph of composite subscription as well as consumption semantic of time test. This algorithm has been implemented in our OncePubSub system. Performance comparison results indicated the proposed algorithm was more efficient than the two systems developed on the basis of Siena and JESS respectively.
