Nuclear company BFNL's planned sale of its British Nuclear Group (BNG) and Westinghouse will leave the company only with its share in Urenco and nuclear technology business Nexia. Nexia comprises a workforce of around 750 based at technology centers in Sellfields and Springfields sites, which are owned and leased from the UK's Nuclear Decommissiong Authority (NDA). A statement from the company expresses that what is now Nexia solution should be retained in government ownership in order to maintain the skills base. The company had an annual turnover of approximately £85 million, and it believes that it had a successful year and can survive in a competitive market.
