摘要
The removal of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and biological oxygen demand (BOD) using different natural materials like Bentonite, Fuller's earth, China clay and Zeolite on textile wastewater was investigated in this paper. The influence of various factors like adsorbent dosage, contact duration and temperature on COD and BOD removal has been studied. The Langmuir and Freundlich models adsorption were applied to describe the isotherm equilibrium and to determine its constants, in which experimental data were well fitted with Freundlich isotherm. Maximum removal of COD (92.5 %) and BOD removal (95.5 %) was attained at temperature of 350 K with contact duration of 4 hrs and dosage of 50 g/L of Zeolite. © Research India Publications.
