Direct power backstepping control strategy for high frequency chain matrix converter

A nonlinear backstepping control strategy based on direct power (BS-DPC) was proposed to solve the problem that the dynamic performance and robustness of the system are reduced due to the coupling of the high-frequency link matrix converter (HFLMC) circuit. The nonlinear mathematical model of HFLMC and the dynamic model of active and reactive power were established, and the bipolar current space vector modulation strategy was analyzed. At the same time, considering the uncertainty of the system, two decoupling control components were introduced, and the DC output current and reactive power backstepping controller were designed to realize the fast tracking control of the output current reference value under different working conditions of the battery. According to the Lyapunov stability theory, the global asymptotic stability of the HFLMC closed-loop system was proved. Compared with the traditional PI direct power control and BS-DPC strategy, the simulation and experimental results show that the proposed BS-DPC strategy control HFLMC improves the dynamic performance of the output current and the robustness under grid fluctuation and DC filter inductance change. The proposed control strategy reduces the dynamic response time of the system by approximately 78% . The THD reduction on the grid side is 0. 98% with the proposed control strategy. © 2024 Editorial Department of Electric Machines and Control. All rights reserved.
