摘要
We analyzed and categorized fishing villages from a nationwide perspective about the size and form of the settlement, and based on these results, we examined the formation process and residential range in North Kinki. In fishing villages, the village form is defined by the correspondence with the terrain. Taking North Kinki as an example, various formation processes were seen even in one village form. Also, since the fishing villages before the early modern period were mainly for maritime traffic, some villages did not have a main axis in the early modern period. © 2023 Architectural Institute of Japan.
