摘要
Gas turbines play a significant role within the energy sector and are expected to be more important in future energy systems. Driven by the goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, gas-turbine combustors will be more efficient, lower emissions, lower carbon footprint, and higher flexibility to multiple fuels in the future, which emphasizes the urgent need to develop low-carbon and low-emission combustion technologies. Thus, it is imperative to gain a deep understanding of the intricate interplay between turbulent flow and chemical reactions in turbulent combustion processes. This calls for the development of advanced laser diagnostics and combustion control methods tailored to renewable synthetic fuels like hydrogen and ammonia. Drawing insights from an analysis of the trends, challenges, and prerequisites for the future gas turbine combustion technology, this paper overviews the research progress on combustion laser diagnostics and reaction regulation for gas turbine applications. Finally, the potential research directions of laser diagnosis and combustion control are underscored. This review is anticipated to provide guidance for both the application and fundamental research of low-carbon combustion technology. © 2024 Science Press. All rights reserved.
