Simulation of Ultrasonic Inspection for Complex Materials and Components. This presentation gives an overview of two analytical approaches to model ultrasonic testing of complex-structured media. Results for both isotropic materials including curved interfaces and for anisotropic, inhomogeneous media are presented, covering ultrasound generation by various types of transducers. Modeling of time-dependent rf-signals and the scattering of ultrasound at defects is also possible. In view of the consideration of anisotropic material properties in defect reconstruction methods, a respective SAF-algorithm is also presented. © 2000 Carl Hanser Verlag. All rights reserved.
