Desencrage CMD, a division of Cascades Inc, laid-off employees in response to a drop in demand for deinked pulp. De-inked pulp, made from recycled waste paper, is used in the manufacture of newsprint and packaging. The fall in demand was due to a limited use of paper made from recycled fibers despite its extremely positive impact on the environment.
