The effects of rock structure planes on the propagation of blasting seismic wave-a case study

In order to investigate the rock structure planes influence on particle peak velocity, frequency characteristics and energy distribution of blasting vibration signals, experiments of blasting vibration were carried out at Zuangou Limestone open-pit mine. The blasting vibration signals and propagation law were analyzed with the methods of wavelet packet and numerical simulation respectively. The results of wavelet packet analysis showed that the blasting vibration energy of vibration frequency from 0Hz to 15.6Hz increases by 63.1%, while the proportion of blasting vibration energy of vibration frequency from 15.7 Hz to 31.3Hz decreases by 56.9% when the blasting seismic wave pass through the rock structure planes. The results of simulation showed that the particle peak velocity wasn't attenuated obviously when the blasting seismic wave doesn't work with the rock structure planes, while the particle peak velocity attenuated obviously when the blasting seismic wave pass through the rock structure planes, and the average attenuation rate was 40.66%. Moreover, the blasting vibration amplification coefficient tended to increase firstly and then decreased under the impact of elevation and rock structure planes. © 2016 ejge.
