摘要
The flow of a viscous incompressible electrically conducting fluid in presence of a transverse magnetic field with volume sources and sinks of mass is considered. The effects of the magnetic field and volume sources and sinks of mass on the flow field are studied. The method of matched asymptotic expansions is employed to solve the problem for large Hartmann number (M) and a regular perturbation method is used for small source/sink parameter (N). The effects of Hartmann number (M), source/sink parameter (N) on the flow field have been discussed with the help of graphs and tables. The problem is significantly relevant to the magneto-hydrodynamic flow in a channel with evaporation or condensation.
