In this work; we studied the temperature dependence of millimeter wave absorption due to natural resonance; zero-field ferromagnetic resonance; in Ε-Al0.06Fe1.94O3. The natural resonance frequency (fr) was recorded at a high value of 172 GHz at room temperature. With decreasing temperature; the fr value gradually increased to 186 GHz (204 K) and then decreased to 147 GHz (77 K). At a very low temperature (21 K); the fr value was 133 GHz. This temperature dependence of fr corresponds to that of the coercive field (H c); i.e; Hc 19.4 kOe (300 K) → 22.6 kOe (200 K) → 5.7 kOe (90 K). The temperature region of the sigmoid decrease of f r almost corresponds to the temperature range of the spin reorientation. As for the linewidth of natural resonance; the full width at half maximum value (δf) increased from 5 GHz (301 K) to 19 GHz (77 K). The temperature region of the sigmoid increase of δf also corresponds to that of the spin reorientation. These fr and δf anomalous temperature dependencies in Ε-Al0.06Fe1.94O 3 are understood by the disappearance of magnetic anisotropy due to spin reorientation phenomenon. © 2012 American Institute of Physics;
