Bevel Gears are the most important machine element for the power transfer within angular gearboxes. To ensure good running characteristics in all areas of application, the main geometry as well as the contact geometry is optimised. For this designsoftware is available. But normally the manufactured flank topography differs from the ideal calculated one due to inaccuracies within the machine. Therefore the corrections for the ideal manufacturing parameters have to be defined. Within the manufacturing process there exist nonlinear cross correlations between some machine settings. Because of this a Complex-Algorithem, an Evolutionary Algorithem and a Mountaineer Algorithem was used for the optimisation of the manufacturing parameters. This article describes and compares these three algorithems. It is shown, that espacially the Complex-Algorithem is appropriate for this task.
