Plainwell, Inc., a specialty paper and tissue manufacturer, plans to close its Michigan mill. The mill will be closed due to the unprofitability, competition from the market pressure, and high raw material and energy costs. The main reason for unprofitability at the mill was considered to be the overcapacity and consolidation in the industry.
