Method for extracting seismic features and tracing energy ridges in deep fractured-vuggy reservoirs

T he O rdovician deep fractured - vuggy reservoirs in W ell F uyuan - 1 of the F um an O ilfield in the T arim B asin exhibit strong internal reservoir heterogeneity. D uring the drilling process,drilling fluid leakage m ainly occurs in fracture- vuggy reservoirs,w hile the w ell sections that are em ptied prim arily consist of vuggy - cave reservoirs. It is necessary to spatially characterize fracture and fault system s of different scales w ith specificity . T herefore,based on previous research,this study uses the heterogeneity and high - energy characteristics of the internal cavities in the strike - slip faults in seism ic profiles as a starting point and proposes a m ethod for extrac - ting seism ic features and tracking energy ridges in deep fracture - vuggy reservoirs. A n im proved greedy algorithm w ith azim uth sector constraints is used to track the ridges w ith heterogeneous energy in fractured - vuggy reservoirs,to identify the features of core band structures or grid - like structures in fracture and fault system s. T he specific steps are as follow s. ① S eism ic data preprocessing. P reprocessing is perform ed based on seism ic data,including stratigraphic dip angle scanning and structural layer interpretation. ② H eterogeneous energy ridge tracking. H eterogeneous seism ic inform ation is extracted to determ ine the effective root m ean square am - plitude attribute range and data truncation based on precise w ell - seism ic calibration results. H eterogeneous energy ridges are then identified based on threshold truncation tracking data. ③ D rilling verification and analysis. B ased on the precise calibration results,the correlation betw een heterogeneous energy ridge data and drilling,logging,and cum ulative fluid production data is analyzed to validate the fault identification results at different scales. T he application exam ple show s that the identification results of heterogeneous energy ridges in the deep fractured-vuggy reservoirs of Well Fuyuan-1 show a 98. 5% match with emptying,mud loss, and other factors,which can effectively reveal the spatial development position of high-quality fractured-vuggy reservoirs and support well deployment. © 2024 Editorial office of Oil Geophysical Prospecting.
