Cropping of two-layer chilled mill rollers

Production of chilled cast iron rollers has been organized. This rollers are used at the rolling mills. Worn roller should be utilized as scrap metal. In this case, cropping of the roller should be provided in order to produce scrap lumps with sizes of not more than 600x800 mm. This scrap is utilized for producing the cast iron in electric arc furnace ore induction furnace. In order to provide efficient cropping of the rollers, method of explosion of metal has been developed. New versions of blasting have been offered. Efficiency of various methods has been determined. Optimal method of the roller cropping has been selected.
