Experimental investigation of desulfurization and denitrification from flue gas by absorbents based on fly ash

The highly active absorbents based on fly ash and Ca(OH)2had been exploited. The processes of fixture bed and duct injection were used. A combined desulfurization and denitrification was achieved. Experimental study on removal of SO2and NOxfrom flue gas using the highly active absorbents was carried out according to some factors which influences the capability of absorbency. In the experiment of dry duct injection for removal of SO2and NOxfrom flue gas, about 84% of absorbing efficiency for SO2and 40% of absorbing efficiency for NOxwere achieved under low Ca/S ratio. The mechanism of removal of SO2and NOxby the absorbents based on fly ash was investigated on the base of experiments. The advantages and application foreground of the technology are pointed out, study results can offer references for pollution control of flue gas of power plants.
