摘要
The flow field in a new mold with hybrid magnetic fields with combination of alternative and static electromagnetic fields for continuous casting was simulated. The comparison of the results with different static magnetic flux density was conducted. The principle of the new mold was analyzed. The results show that the new technique not only has the advantages of both soft contact EMC (electromagnetic continuous casting) and EMBR (electromagnetic braking) but also overcomes some shortcomings of the two techniques in controlling the meniscus.
