Numerical simulation on flow-structure interaction for flexible plate in narrow flow channel

The plate-type fuel assembly is widely used in the design of the advanced reactor. It may occur the flow-induced vibration (FIV) when the fluid flows over the fuel plate in axial direction. At the same time, the FIV also influences the distributions of the flow. It forms a strong fluid-structure interaction (FSI) between the plates and the fluid. The code developed in the research is for a single plate. It is based on physical component and body-fitted coordinate (PCBFC), and applies arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) method to realize the grid moving. The distribution of the flow in the narrow channel was simulated. The numerical calculation was performed for the formula of beam vibration of the plate coupled with the pressure. This is a new method to simulate FSI for the flexible plate in a narrow flow channel.
