Based on the law of propagation of uncertainty, the wave-induced load experiment uncertainty of an ultra large containership model is analyzed and an uncertainty analysis method is developed. Confidence interval of vertical moment under certain confidence is provided. It is found that the uncertainty induced by calibration coefficient is quite important for vertical moment. Assembly of measurement beam and ship hull will have certain influence on calibration coefficient. The calibration coefficient after assembly is more reasonable. Accuracy uncertainty is induced by the randomness of experiment and mass distribution. The uncertainty induced by ship lines, height of gravity center, strain gauges and measurement devices could be ignored. Results of this research have certain significance on improvement of experiment technique and accuracy. © 2022, Editorial Board of Journal of Ship Mechanics. All right reserved.
