摘要
A research programme known as IMPACT, which aims to improve knowledge in areas affecting the reliability of predicting extreme flood conditions, is discussed. IMPACT uses a variety of approaches and links fieldwork, laboratory physical modelling, desk analysis and computational modelling. IMPACT involves nine main collaborators from eight countries and is supported by the European Commission.
