Harmanecke Papierne, the Slovakian paper producer, plans to invest $140 million to modernize its production facilities. New equipment would be purchased to improve product quality and to cut operating costs. The company believes that its performance was influenced by rising prices of energy and raw materials. The mill specializes in hygiene paper. In 2000, exports accounted for 74% of total sales.
