In order to fabricate the self-cleaning glass-ceramic with high hydrophobicity, the organic/inorganic filming liquid including silica solution and PTFE were prepared by using the sol-gel process to coat the surface of the glass-ceramic. The green body of the glass-ceramic was fabricated by the slag and the potassium feldspar. The high hydrophobicity was obtained after heat treatment. The effects of time, temperature, pH value and the amount of ethanol and water on the formation of the silica sol were discussed. And the influence of the ratio of the silica sol to PTFE on the properties of solution and the effect of film was analyzed. XRD, SEM and contact-angle meter were used to test the properties of the above samples. The results show that the main phase of the glass-ceramic is akermanite, the PTFE has a good modifying role on the silica sol, the angle of the self-cleaning glass-ceramic can reach 120°, and this material has higher hydrophobicity.
