摘要
To investigate the damping effects of different kinds of particle dampers (PDs) and the vibration properties of PDs under centrifugal loads and establish the linear discrete element models, a parameter selection strategy for PDs linear contact model is introduced. According to the Hertz nonlinear contact model, it is assumed that an equivalent linear spring stores the same amount of energy up to a similar yield force for a Hertzian model, and the relationship between the force and the displacement of two particles is treated as linear. The discrete element method is used for modeling non-obstructive particle damper (NOPD), and bean bag damper under gravity and NOPD under centrifugal loads. The contact parameters are determined by means of the granular material properties, such as yield strength, Poisson's ratio, elasticity modulus etc. Compared with the experiments for contact parameter of particle dampers, this strategy is suitable for a wider application range. And the simulations coincide well with the experiments, in both quantitative values and evolving trends.
