Modernization of a system is a way of increasing productivity at the same time as improving quality of a production machine. A number of technical details need to be checked in order to increase quality and capacity considerably by means of a modernization exercise. They include speed, the basis weight of the material, the minimum sitting width, the number of changeover operations per shift. Depending on the scope of a necessary remodelling project, the downtime can be reduced to a maximum of one to two days, after which new dimensions can be entered as far as the capacity and quantity are concerned.
