In Germany, a new way to cross busy roads has been developed. The concept, known as Schmid Peoplemover, uses vertical transportation technology to transport pedestrians up-and-over traffic. It also makes the crossing easier for the handicapped and those with strollers and pushcarts. Schmid Peoplemover is built as a free-hanging system.
