摘要
In order to avoid corrosion in boiler tubes it is necessary to undertake a passivation. Under normal conditions, passivation in pure water is encountered at increased temperatures. The forming oxide layer adheres tightly to the metal surface and prevents most of the corrosive forms of attack. Surface corrosion in steam generators is almost always a function of escort substances contained in the boiler feed water. Cleaning tests during operation were successful in the examined cases. The quality of the tubes and the protection by thin, adherent magnetite layers guarantee a smooth plant operation.
