摘要
Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of 10,12-tricosadiynoic acid molecules were deposited onto a basal plane of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) by Schaefer's method and then observed by scanning tunneling microscopy (STM). For the purpose of achieving a parallel molecular arrangement, the deposition was deliberately conducted at a surface pressure lower than that of saturated Langmuir film. Using this approach, 10,12-tricosadiynoic acid molecules could form an ordered structure with their molecular chains lying parallel to the substrates. A similar result was also attained with behenic acid molecules.
