Boiling detection with the detector based on the change of temperature rate can be transformed into the on-line detection for one-sided mean change with Gaussian white noise essentially by the analysis of process feature and noise characteristic for liquid heating. Cumulative sum control charts are used to monitor the boiling and the parameter optimisation is discussed based on the method of integral equation. Combining with real-time estimation of heating process parameters, the adaptive change detection approach is built and can update the parameters of control charts on-line so as to achieve optimal performance for different processes.
