Novel mode of liquid crystal display with narrow viewing angle

摘要
A novel mode of liquid crystal display was studied by detailed numerical simulation. Toothed surfaces were formed on two substrates and the two substrates were interlaced with each other. The optimized mode with a cell gap of 3.4 μm was determined by theoretical analysis. By using the extended Jones matrix method, we have shown the narrow viewing angle in the horizontal direction of less than ±10°.
