Increasingly strict regulations of the government make an efficient use of resources necessary. One of the most auspicious options to produce products in a resource saving way is the light weight technology. Light weight engineering is as useful to optimise products in their use phase of the product life cycle. Today light weight concepts and technologies are indispensable for many branches. Besides the material appropriate construction, the substitution of metallic materials through fibre reinforced polymers (FRP) is increasing to make use of the advantages of the mass reduction. FRP is mostly used for structural parts like Monocoques, frames or body work. For such parts connecting and joining areas are very important to ensure for example the assembling. The adhesive connection has proved to be optimal suitable for the composite industry, because of the fact, that the composite is on the micro scale as well an adhesive connection between fibres and fibre systems. The use of the adhesive technology for other steps in the process chain of the part production is therefore technically requested. One of the major performance factors of an adhesive connection is the preparation of the surface. In this work three different types of surface treatment are compared.
