Design and analysis of scalar and vector tracking algorithms based on software receiver

In this paper, the structure theory and algorithm design between scalar and vector tracking algorithm were studied and compared based on the Matlab software receiver, and the tracking performances of the two different algorithms were analyzed under temporary shelter environment. Firstly, the scalar structure and its position principle were analyzed; secondly, a vector delay/frequency lock tracking algorithm model was developed based on extended Kalman filter, and the control process and time synchronization of vector tracking was analyzed. Finally, the rapid re-tracking performance between VDFLL and SDLL tracking algorithm and its influence on the positioning were analyzed. Semi-physical simulation results show that the vector tracking algorithm has better performance on rapid re-tracking and both the accuracy and the smoothness of the position detection are better than the scalar tracking. © 2016, Editorial Department of Transaction of Beijing Institute of Technology.
