It is shown that the magnetoelastic gap initiation in a ferromagnet has a cause which is common with the phenomenon of formation of a mass for the Higgs boson. The easy plane ground state in an uniaxial ferromagnet is studied with accounting for magnetoelastic interaction. The strain tensor components of the ferromagnet in the ground state, the magnetoelastic gap and renormalization of the magnetic anisotropy constant are determined.
