Experience with the Pro/ENGINEER three-dimensional modeling system in electrical-machine design is summarized, with examples of the effective solution of various design problems. It is shown that the use of modern CAD systems in electrical-machine design, in combination with a system for managing development data, considerably increases the productivity of the design team and results in competitive new products. © 2006 by Allerton Press, Inc.
